ANTIOXIDANTS
:are known for protecting cells by ridding them of free-radicals. Antioxidants are like molecular vacuum cleaners in your body, sucking up nasty toxins. Antioxidants slow down, even prevent, the excessive oxidation of cells in our body. Too much oxidation can lead to free radicals or cellular bi-products in our bodies which can lead to diabetes, cancer and other disease. Antioxidants in your diet can greatly prevent cellular damage while improving the repair of already damaged cells. Cold-pressed oils, bright berries, colorful veggies and algae supplements are a strong source of antioxidants.

BIODYNAMIC AGRICULTURE: is a term used to describe a method of organic farming with homeopathic composts that treats farms as unified and individual organisms, emphasizing balancing the holistic development and interrelationship of the soil, plants, animals as a self-nourishing system without external inputs. The goal of biodynamic winemaking is to view the vineyard as a complete living system. It’s about the soil, insects, vegetation and animals that inhabit space in the vineyard—all working in harmony—a concept originated by the early 20th-century Austrian philosopher Rudolf Steiner.

BIODYNAMIC WINE
: is made using the principles of biodynamic agriculture. Biodynamic refers to both the agricultural methods and the handling and processing of the fruit post-harvest. There are many biodynamic wine producers all over the world. Biodynamic wine is 100% organic and you can be certain that the grower has gone above and beyond to try to bring the farming process more closely in tune with nature. For instance, biodynamic wine growers may make their own compost and/or align planting and sowing according to the astronomical calendar.

CANDIDA ALBICANS
: is a yeast that lives in the mouth, throat, intestines and genitourinary tract of most humans. An overgrowth of Candida Albicans is caused when the immune system becomes imbalanced, compromised or weakened. These causes can be from antibiotics, steroid hormones, immunosuppressant drugs, pregnancy, birth control pills, improper diets and environmental hazards. The first signs of infection are nasal congestion, nasal itching, blistering in the mouth and throat, bloating, constipation, prostate or urinary burning. If the immune system remains weak enough, Candida can spread to all parts of the body causing more intense symptoms like gastrointestinal discomfort, food allergies, sensitivities, cravings for sweets, chronic fatigue, headaches, arthritis, menstrual irregularities, skin problems, anxiety, depression and mood swings. Spend some time on this site to learn more about the causes and symptoms of Candida and what you can do naturally to test for, and treat Candida Albicans overgrowth. Keep in mind that you can get quality sources of protein without dairy and meat.

. . . .
CELIAC DISEASE: is the intolerance of foods containing the protein gluten, which is found in wheat, barley or rye. Misdiagnosis is pretty common because Celiac Disease symptoms are similar to a number of disease’s. For example, many people are told that they have Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), or Chron’s disease, etc. and eventually discover that they have a gluten intolerance. With doctor’s approval, you can self-test for Celiac Disease with home kits or by using the “instinct” method. Check with your doc first and then, try removing everything containing gluten and wheat from your diet for two to four weeks. After two to four weeks, slowly start adding gluten back into your diet. Compare how you felt before, during, and after the testing time frame. Did removing gluten feel like breaking an addiction? Were you less irritable when gluten-free? Did you sleep better? Did your food digest better? Was your stomach less bloated? If your answers were “yes”, well, there you have it.

CLEAN EATING: A term we use around here to describe a lifestyle approach to food and its preparation. Clean eating means eating food in its most natural state possible—avoiding processed or refined foods, including refined flours, certain sugars and trans fats. Imagine if all the factories and food science, factory farming and other industrially produced food horrors were to disappear and we were left to eat things the way nature intended. That’s clean eating. If we weren’t supposed to eat green, our planet wouldn’t be covered with it.
