Tip 6: Shhhh. Lead by Example.

I’m officially giving you permission to be what many people would call selfish.

It is actually your time to make yourself stronger, healthier and happier so you can be at the top of your game for the other people in your life.

Now, you are going to feel great eating plant-based foods. It’s a fact. I know that it’s exciting and I can bet that you are going to want to shout about your new love of veggies and raw and vegan and plant-based from the rooftops, but you have to remember that you can’t force this lifestyle on others—whether they are your family, co-workers or the coughing guy next to you on the bus.

Let those you care about see how good you feel. It’s the best way to introduce this way of eating in a meaningful, impactful way. Let people inquire about your new approach or request a taste of the creations that you make. Only then, will this healthy way of life become attractive to them. If you are on a mission to share, “on their terms” is more than likely the only way for plant-based to stick.

If you know someone who would benefit from the resources and recipes on YumUniverse, or if you know someone who would like to feel as good as you do, be respectful of their process. Just introduce them to this great new website you found and then let them see you shine. Know that timing is different for everyone and accept the fact that they may not get on board.

Remember to focus on your own progress!

Hearts,
Heather
